Cape Dory Rendezvous 2004:
Cruise to Ocracoke

June 25-28

Current as of: 12 May 2003

Navigation Info:

Regarding the Ocracoke Entrance Channel:

Submerged pipes are now on your port side as you go in. Previously the pipes were on your starboard side as you entered the channel. The new channel is straighter making only a slight turn to the right rather than the 90 degree turn to the right previously after entering.

Pick up [ 13 green lighted can to starboard ] and [ 14BF red lighted nun bouy to port ] and enter at 155 to 160 magnetic and proceed down the main channel at 165 to 170 magnetic as before with red markers to your left and green to your right until you reach red over green ref PA where the red's switch to your right as before prior to entering Silver Lake.

Note that the structures that held the old markers are still there, but with white triangular danger signs on them, which when combined with the pipes and new low markers makes the situation a bit confusing. If in doubt wait for the Cedar Island or Swanquarter ferry or call them on channel 13 for instructions .

Please check the Local Notice to Mariners for District 5.

Please see the "Events" page for the current Carolinas Fleet Rendezvous agenda.
For information on becoming part of the Carolinas Fleet see the "Fleet Information."
